a study toward sonnet #462 by FisherKingKQJ
I said teasingly, kiss me goodbye, then,
As I wouldn't ever see the oaf afresh,
He pinned me as if a lab specimen
Against the wall, craving my tender flesh.
I'd fought to extract myself from his mesh
Of swagger and self aggrandising boasts,
Yet there was a grain of truth in the thresh,
He celebrated my exploits with roasts.
Sometimes he seemed one who just coasts
From day to day, other times he seemed
Defensive with heavy handed ripostes
So my advice or whimsy wasn't esteemed.
The kiss was provocative and surly,
I'd miss him, his friends, the hurlyburly.
The kiss was provocative and surly.
The kiss was provocative and brash.
The kiss was provocative and macho.
