a study toward sonnet #297 by FisherKingKQJ
She wriggled along me, hurried and vexed,
On the square and narrow wooden stairwell,
As if she was pure, as if I was hexed,
I second guessed it a love affair death knell.
She pursued distractions in the pell mell
Of daily life, and her girlfriends would beep
On her mobile, my chitchat she'd dispel
Along with period cramp general sweep.
I'm ashamed to say, friend, I'd quiet weep-
I was a banished grey-zone zombie reject-
And her eyes away from my eyes she'd keep:
Yet to another man she won't defect.
She's always full of fibs and little white lies,
My eyes from her eyelids I cannot prise.
My eyes from her eyelids I cannot prise.
My eyes from her eyelids I cannot loosen.
My eyes from her eyelids I cannot sever.
