a study toward sonnet #294 by FisherKingKQJ
Tears hung in my eyes and turned to vapour-
I'd caught the sexy girl and perhaps him
In the trembling rearview; a jealous lour
I shot back at her figure hourglass slim.
I put an arm on the back of the seat trim,
My cheeks red hot with humiliating sweat;
The runabout's wheels began to skid and skim-
I engaged the clutch, the rearview reset.
He was more handsome than my love and yet
He was shorter too, which forced me to flinch
At my mistake, and my trifling upset,
My anguish turned to ether at their clinch
As the handbrake clicked and creaked into lock-
I cussed my feeling which'd run amok.
My anguish turned to ether at their clinch.
My anguish turned to ether at their embrace.
My angusih turned to ether at their hold.
