I woke up for a change at the crack of dawn,
As you might recall, the birdsong chorus
Accompanying stretches and a yawn
And you caught the yawn with minimal fuss.
So there we were paralysed, the two of us
Infected and cross infected by peace
And yawns at trivial things we used to cuss
And I read your mind to do what I please.
I passed a shuffling tramp confined to ease
And yawned at him, then he at me yawned back
I sailed past an asthmatic on her wheeze
And yawned at her, then she at me yawned tack.
And round the world travelled the yawn bug
Disarming the bellicose and the smug.


And around the world travelled the yawn bug.
And around the world travelled the yawn disease.
And around the world travelled the yawn lurg.
