Revised sonnet #70
On floating clothes I smack a dolly stick
In frills and pleats the fear is box iron singe
Id rather suck a drunken diggers dick
Id rather mint it minding my own minge
The matron put in place a plan to leave
In laundry kit youd learn to earn your keep
The bustle cuff and sleeve at weight of weave
Egg ball and sleeve irons rid of wrinkles deep
Ive studied Mrs Beetons brilliant book
A wifes exacting standards I more than meet
I thump the tub to champion suds and heat
I ponder luck and not embarrassed look
I miss the laid on gin and pretty pence
Those gentlemen of covert consequence
Chorus pence cents rupees
