a study toward sonnet #1,144 by FisherKingKQJ
Those Julian cardinals claim their leap year,
On leap day their Pope lugs their world a-right;
For my love I track a hex year more tight,
A six day week, day seven sabbath fair.
In my brain I've built her a church sincere,
To my love who looks lovely, who talks light,
A leap day after centuries seems slight,
And she can stem misfortune as a seer.
In her church I've chiseled one high altar
Where vicars tithe and vote her food and drink-
Nothing from her would I axe or alter,
No nuance of her fine body would I shrink.
If I play safe, gild her or file her fat,
I know that she'll turn down gifts nicely flat.
(Chorus)
o $10,000,000 fat
o $10,000,000 obese
o $10,000,000 plump
