a study toward sonnet #738 by FisherKingKQJ
I was hellbent on forcing him to pay
In some slow burning way to settle score;
Although I knew that he had feet of clay
From dossier gossip after and before.
It was a dogeared scratchie card of yore
That solved our dilemma, as still unclaimed,
Again through symbols I began to pore,
A two dollar win spared his getting maimed.
I put aside the thought that he be shamed
For not recalling our moment with nags-
On rounded silk sheets he could be gamed,
Impromptu kinetic with pillow scrags.
His luck that I got everything just so.
(Chorus)
$10,000 gusto
$10,000 enthusiasm
$10,000 verve

{It's the first time I've gotten the closing couplet right
first time...a good omen.}
