a study toward sonnet #714 by FisherKingKQJ
I walk through crowds as decrepit zombie,
My knees imploding, near weak as jelly;
Red and yellow hair crowned epitome-
Meanwhile, butterflies stir in my belly.
Their small talk is nothing false or smelly
Quite contrary, they're diplomatic sweet,
Cheer thorough, outside this cafe-deli,
As brother and sister they chorus greet.
They huddle, their plates riccotta replete-
Strange how my siblings and I look alike,
As he and his don't, their gestures a suite,
How he makes my heart pulse rate spike.
But when I'm far, I'm certain it's a quirk.
