a study toward sonnet #651 by FisherKingKQJ
If you'd just once spell out loud my error,
I'd know which part of dumb me to erase;
Langorous sigh underlines my terror
And kicks up into some short yawn blase.
I melt in your eyes, as they overglaze,
There's any bit of me that I'd destroy
For your ideal, to prime a mutual craze-
But you bite your lip, sad mime deploy.
Perhaps I need to insinuate a decoy,
Transmute to body double of your choice,
As thorough as some stranger redeploy
Eloquent or mumbling, so lower my voice.
Who's that monkey in the looking-glass?
He's puzzled that you're only booking class.
(Chorus)
Who's that monkey in the looking-glass? SPADES
Who's that monkey in the mirror? CLUBS
Who's that monkey in the reflection? DIAMONDS
