a study toward sonnet #635 by FisherKingKQJ
Great good friend, I found her first in that crowd
In evil, muddle and good - so please behave;
Let me have two friends of whom to be proud-
Your face reddens jealous or whitens grave.
I see what you see and none of us is slave-
She reads books bottom to top, back to front,
And left to right in monotones architrave-
Her aramaic, basque and gaelic being no stunt.
On idiosyncrasies we've placed love's punt:
She wears fleece cotton culottes, sips green tea,
Her childbride friends help her husband hunt,
She's gypsy mannered, gorgeous to a tee.
My friend, you can't have her, it would be sin,
But she's got a sister, now wouldn't that be syn?
(Chorus)
My friend, you can't have her, it would be sin. SPADES
My friend, you can't have her, it would be left. CLUBS
My friend, you can't have her, it would be odd. DIAMONDS
