When Cupid picked up Psyche full of groans
And over orange trees those tight two flew
Annoyed at him and not the broken bones
Of nosiness her anger greatly grew
Next Cupid carried her far from folks view
The broken ankles put in plaster cast
To soporific remedies the skew
And Psyche cried in silence mind in past
The candle burns on him if less than blast
Off clumsy her diminished lovely looks
Apollo promised her a monster vast
On either side cool calculating crooks
If Zeus turned her to goddess loving zest
Then Cupid married more than second best
