Revised sonnet #1253
The helmet holes afford a proxy eye
A camera obscura helps it heal
The suit of armour mirrors state of sky
And forest camouflage of real to real
The foe are flexed up close in mirror lie
And swipe at self perplexed and swear or squeal
A flash of sun off gauntlet mine they die
A swish and slash of sword turns them to veal
This time the greaves and sabots serve as splints
And broken bones are propped in proper place
The smoked out castle falls to baffled face
The carbon dioxide killing foe in subtle hints
The castle reservoir its spring and moat
I grip again to keep the realm afloat
Chorus moat gully trench
