a study toward sonnet #1,386 by FisherKingKQJ
I walked a shortcut to get round a roadworks,
Breezed through bollards into muggers' alley;
Hedges, rooves, and chimneys held the tally,
The lane of light and shade dealt custom quirks.
I caught some girl who garbled herself irks
Crouched on doorsteps, who'd yet royally rally
Sobs and shudders, vent depressive sally
Against dear sycophant, his spineless smirks.
I could not figure this girl out at first,
Blonde hair mostly tucked up into beanie;
I caught, unsighted yet, my name accursed,
By this girl who'd bottled me her genie.
I'd changed on her recognisance, beyond doubt,
To clinch her love, she loathed me inside out.
(Chorus)
o $10,000,000 doubt
o $10,000,000 misgiving
o $10,000,000 scepticism
