Revised sonnet #144
As you tread by my side
The green and ebbing waves
I hold back empty pride
Were students biding slaves
Sea grapes your charming crown
My heirloom coloured glass
On shattered shells walk down
Two surfers we let pass
The breeze removes sun heat
Our brows at puzzle knit
Sand hoppers leap and flit
They look like easy meat
Our vows are now remade
In off white toitoi shade
Chorus remade redone reworked
