Revised sonnet #1649
Godog ex machina I stepped out serf
In code and title rallied triumphant knight
In pleasantry you nestled noble right
Our steeds stamped squarely certain solid turf
I couldn't cuss you cold you kept calm court
I couldn't guide your quill using gauntlet fist
Hornbook yours leaf turn tight twist of wrist
As only private prayers me mentioned forte
We count ourselves untouched by bane black death
We billow over castle clinging moat
You under veil I under crossed surcoat
Up bailey stairs gruff gust acquainting breath
A garrison crew can yet wage your whim
My holy servitude the sombre hymn
Chorus whim caprice gambit
